Taylor County FFA Members Achieve Success at State FFA Convention!

Agriscience Fair Division

The 88th Kentucky FFA State Convention was held June 6th-8th, 2017 in Lexington, KY. Nineteen members of the Taylor County FFA Chapter attended the convention and competed in several competitions and events such as Ag Marketing, Farm Business Management, Middle School Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Impromptu Speeches, and Agriscience Fair Projects. The members did not disappoint anyone by their success at the convention, they racked up on awards and scholarships. Taylor County’s student payout in scholarships and prize money was $4,320. Students can use this money to further their education or make improvements to their SAE programs.

National Chapter Application:
Taylor County FFA was again awarded the top chapter awards in the state. They are ranked top 15 in the state and will represent Kentucky at the National contest in October.
Taylor County placed in each area of this contest winning over $1,000 in prize money for the chapter. These awards are based on chapter, student, and community activities that our program provides.

Chapter placings were as follows:

Growing Leaders -3rd
Strengthening Agriculture - 1st
Building Communities- 1st
