On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, members of Taylor County High School Y-Club attended the Kentucky YMCA Youth Assembly Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. The students learned the democratic process through bill writing and debate.
TCHS senior, Rachel Myers, received an Outstanding Delegate Award and an Honor Level Service Award for completing 500 service points.
The Kentucky Youth Assembly is a three-day experiential learning program in which students serve as part of a model state government. KYA offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth. Y-Club at Taylor County High School is led by Mr. Tim Peterson.
