Taylor County Scholarship Golf Scramble Citizens Bank and Trust: 3rd Place Team

Taylor County School District hosted its annual Scholarship Golf Scramble on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Campbellsville Country Club. Proceeds from the event go to scholarships for College Ready, Career Ready, College & Career Ready, and Cardinal Academy Leadership students at Taylor County High School. The event brought in over $7,000 to go towards scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year!

BIDDING OPEN FOR CAREER CENTER SPRINKLER/ FIRE ALARM

The Taylor County Board of Education, 1209 East Broadway, Campbellsville, Kentucky 42718 will receive sealed bids until 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 for Central Kentucky Career Center sprinkler system and fire alarm system reconnection. At that time bids will be opened and read.   Specifications are available at the office of the superintendent, 1209 East Broadway, Campbellsville, KY  42718 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Beauty and the Beast Jr. Beauty and the Beast

Taylor County Cardinal Chorus presents Beauty and The Beast Jr. Public performances will be Thursday, May 3rd and Friday, May 4th at 7:00pm in the evening and Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm in the Roger D. Cook Auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7 for adults and children ages 6+.

Taylor County School District Hosts 2nd Annual Personalized Learning Summit Student Parent Panel

On Tuesday, June 6th, 2017, Taylor County School District hosted its second annual personalized learning summit. The event was held at Taylor County High School and over 150 people were in attendance. Teachers and administrators traveled from Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, Kansas, and Minnesota to gain first-hand experience on this innovative approach to teaching.

A partnership between Taylor County School District and One Cross Medical Clinic has formed One Cross Kids Clinic, a school-based clinic offering health-care provided by three registered nurses and one nurse practitioner. The mission of One Cross Kids is to provide the highest level of healthcare for Taylor County students.

TCIS Student Places in Top 10 at State Jacob Gilbert

Jacob Gilbert, 5th grade student at Taylor County Intermediate School, competed in the Elementary District and Region Governor’s Cup in February and March. Not only did he earn a 1st place ranking on the Social Studies Written Assessment at both the District and Region levels, he also placed Top Ten in the State at the District Level Governor’s Cup!

Taylor County School District is looking for Substitute Teachers!

 

Taylor County School District is looking for Substitute Teachers.  This is a great opportunity for those that are in college or need a part time job. A background check will also be required. 

Applicants with a valid Kentucky teaching certificate or applicants with a 4-year college degree (any major) and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (or 3.0 on the last 60 hours) will be paid as a Rank IV employee with an emergency certificate.  Applicants that have at least a junior standing (64 hours) and who are currently enrolled in the teacher education program with a minimum 2.5 GPA will also be paid as a Rank IV. Proof of enrollment will be required.

All applicants must submit a copy of your Kentucky teaching certificate, an official college transcript, and three (3) letters of reference. Taylor County Schools requires a physical and a state and federal criminal records check on all substitute teachers. Physicals will be accepted if they have been done within the last 90 days. Crime checks will be accepted from other districts if they have been done within 6 months.

TCES Cardinal Academy

We are forming the first ever Taylor County Elementary Cardinal Academy.  We are excited to announce this opportunity for our high potential students.  The Academy will offer enrichment opportunities during the school day for our K-5th grade students.  Mrs. Mandy Cox will be coordinating and teaching the enrichment group in conjunction with Mrs. Debbie Gumm, the G/T coordinator.  We are ecstatic about this new adventure and to see how we can work together to maximize the potential of our Cardinals at TCES!

Cummunity Elegibility Provision - School Lunch

 

Our school is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program. The CEP is directed toward schools with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students. Under CEP, Taylor County Elementary and Taylor County Middle Schools will receive a breakfast/lunch at no charge for the entire school year. However, to determine eligibility to receive additional benefits for your child(ren) you will need to complete a household and income form.....

6th Annual Academic Pep Rally

During the 6th Annual Student Achievement Academic Pep Rally on Friday, May 1st, 2015, Taylor County Board of Education and Don Franklin teamed up to give away a 1998 Cadillac to a deserving TCHS student. Samantha Clark, a senior at TCHS, won the raffle and picked up the keys to her new ride.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration will be held on Thursday, March 26th, and Friday, March 27th, from 8:30 - 2:30 each day at the TCES main office. If your child is attending the Taylor County Head Start program for the 2014/2015 school year, you WILL have to register your student for kindergarten. However, if your child is enrolled in the TCES preschool program, you WILL NOT have to register your child. The  student's data will automatically roll over to the next school year.

Parents will need the following items to enroll their child:     

  • 2 proofs of residence (drivers license, utility bills, bank statements)
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Immunization records
  • Physical exam
  • Eye exam
  • Dental exam
  • Social Security card
  • Custody papers, if applicable

Site Based Decision Making Council monthly meeting on the third Tuesday night of each month at 4:30 p.m.  The October meeting is on the 21st.

Fall Picture Retake Day is Tuesday, October 28th

A District Parent Advisory Council meeting will be held Tuesday, October 28th at the Middle School.

The next parent volunteer orientation is November 11th at 5:30p.m. in the school cafeteria.  For more information or to register please contact the Family Resource Center at 270-465-3978.
