On Wednesday, October 18th, the Taylor County Fire Department visited Taylor County Primary Center and Taylor County Intermediate School to discuss fire safety with students. They met with kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade classes.

The firefighters taught the children how smoke detectors work and how often you are supposed to change the batteries. The firefighters also had the teachers demonstrate “Stop, Drop, and Roll” for the students. They went over the correct procedures and steps for exiting your house in case of a fire.

Taylor County School District would like to thank the Fire Department for taking time out of their very busy day to visit with our students and for teaching them the importance of fire safety!
