Taylor County Jr Beta attends KY State Convention

Campaign Skit - 2nd place

On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 through Friday, February 2, 2018, Taylor County Intermediate School and Taylor County Middle School Jr Beta Clubs attended the Jr Beta Kentucky Convention in Lexington, Kentucky.

Taylor County Intermediate School Jr Beta received the Gold Key Award for club membership growth. Individually, the following students placed and all qualified to go to nationals in Savannah, Georgia:

TCIS 4th grader, Micah Shively, placed 1st in 4th grade Language Arts

TCIS 4th grader, Jaxon McCubbin, placed 1st in 4th grade Math and placed 3rd in Club Trading Pin.

TCIS 4th grader, Jaxson Parish, placed 3rd in 4th grade Science.

Taylor County Intermediate School Jr Beta Sponsors are Mandy Cox, Debbie Gumm, and Tonya Rogers.

Taylor County Middle School Jr Beta placed 2nd in their Campaign Skit. TCMS Jr Beta Group Talent placed 3rd. Individually, TCMS 7th grader, Clay Corbin, placed 1st in 7th grade Social Studies. TCMS Group Talent and Clay Corbin qualified for nationals.

TCMS 8th grader, Peyton McCubbin, gave her keynote address to the state and led a general session. She was awarded a plaque, gavel, and special edition Louisville Slugger baseball bat for her service to the Kentucky State Junior Beta Club.

Taylor County Middle School Jr Beta Sponsors are Shea White, Amanda Cox, Hollie Westbrook, April Melton, Tim Wood, Rollin McFarland, and Mistie Lee. The coordinators are Living Lit Coordinators- Becky Pinson, Lauryn Tedrow, & Bridget Helm, Group Talent Coordinators- Jennifer Schuhmann, Kelly Smith, and April Higdon, and Campaign Skit Coordinators- Heather Wise, Rhonda Smith, and Lucy Cox.
