Congratulations to Taylor County School District’s Achievement Award Winners for December! The two recipients were recognized at the December Board Meeting on Monday, December 10, 2018.
The categories for the TC Achievement Award include TC Leadership (Leadership, Innovation, Team Leader, Project Leader), TC Cares (Service, Kindness, Giving of Time and Talents, Philanthropy), TC Pride (Achievement in the Classroom and Extracurriculars, Teamwork, Work Ethic), and TC Partnership (Community Partnerships, Parent Involvement).
Kristin Jewell, Taylor County Primary Center Guidance Counselor, is the recipient of the TC Leadership Award. She was nominated by TCPC Principal Melissa Long.
Mrs. Long describes Mrs. Jewell as professional, current, child centered, knowledgeable, leading the way, students first, whole child, understanding, compassionate, innovative, etc. etc. etc.
Mrs. Jewell has moved mental health and trauma informed care to the forefront of the minds at the primary center, has implemented behavior RTI, leads multiple professional development sessions with staff, is a gateway for parents, teachers character development classes, leads several small group support services, and has created and updated the living calendar for the primary center. She is the total package!
Brandon Gupton, PASS Program Coordinator, is the recipient of the TC Cares Award. He was nominated by TCPC/TCIS Assistant Principal Jessica McCubbin.
Mrs. McCubbin says that Mr. Gupton has helped get the TCIS PASS Behavioral Program up and running in the most efficient and organized manner! His motivation to see a cohesive PASS program implemented is based on the needs of the students. He understands that students thrive when they can transition from one school to another (primary to intermediate) and have the same behavioral program expectations in place at their new school.
