Congratulations to Taylor County School District’s Achievement Award Winner for November! The recipient was recognized at the Board Meeting on Monday, November 11, 2019.
The categories for the TC Achievement Award include TC Leadership (Leadership, Innovation, Team Leader, Project Leader), TC Cares (Service, Kindness, Giving of Time and Talents, Philanthropy), TC Pride (Achievement in the Classroom and Extracurriculars, Teamwork, Work Ethic), and TC Partnership (Community Partnerships, Parent Involvement).
Sarah Lockard, Taylor County Primary Center/ Intermediate School Music Teacher, is the recipient of the TC Leadership Award.
Mrs. Lockard has been a wonderful addition to the TCPC/TCIS staff. She has transformed the elementary music program and introduced the students to, not just learning about music but, performing music. Intermediate students are learning to play the recorder, as well as the ukulele.
She has also worked extensively with the TCIS Cardinal Chorus. She has taken a group of students to the 4th District Treble Choir, as well as state competition. Mrs. Lockard has even worked on her days off to tutor students as they get ready for their competitions. This is a wonderful feeder program for our middle school and high school music programs. We are excited to have Mrs. Lockard as part of our Cardinal family and can't wait to see where she takes our music program next.
Taylor County School District would like to congratulate Mrs. Lockard and thank her for her dedication to our students, schools, and community.
The district encourages all of our students, staff, and parents to nominate those people who are making a difference within our district. Nomination forms can be found on the district webpage and all four school webpages under Quick Links - TC Achievement Award Nomination.
