On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Taylor County FFA hosted Food for America for third grade students at Taylor County Intermediate School, Campbellsville Elementary School, and Kentucky Christian Academy.
The elementary students rotated through different booths at The Homeplace on Green River to learn about agriculture, farming, food production, and food transportation. TCHS FFA students and TCHS Career and Technical students taught the lessons and created posters, games, and activities for the students. All participants were given a Food for America t-shirt.
Taylor County School District would like to thank Taylor County High School agriculture teachers Lindsay Wayne and Ryan Williams for their leadership of the event. We would also like to thank all of the teachers and volunteers who helped make the day possible, as well as The Homeplace and the transportation departments at Taylor County Schools, Campbellsville Independent Schools and Kentucky Christian Academy.
Lastly, a huge thank you to the Food for America sponsors: Kentucky Farm Bureau, Taylor County Farm Bureau, FFA, FCCLA, DECA, FBLA, and the Technology Student Association
