Taylor County Primary Center and Taylor County Intermediate School will be in session tomorrow, September 17th, for In-Person Learning. We want to keep you up-to-date with all current data so that you can make the best decision for your child.
We have been notified by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department that the Current Incidence Rate for Taylor County is 26.6, which is classified as a level Red on the state’s new COVID-19 Mode of Instruction Metrics.
As a district, we also consider our staff and student active case numbers when making decisions on whether or not to close schools. As of today, we have one active teacher/staff Covid case and three active student cases in our district. None of the students who tested positive have been in school for in-person learning opportunities.
At this time, if your student is registered for In-Person Learning but will not be attending school given the updated data, please contact the Attendance Clerk at your child's school to enroll them in TC Distance Learning. They will need to remain enrolled until at least October 30th, which is the end of the grading period.
Students will be allowed to transition to Distance Learning at any time during the school year. If students are attending virtually, they may transition to in-person learning at the end of the first nine weeks (October 30th).
District administrators will continue to monitor our internal numbers, as well as community data, to make the best decision possible.
