Taylor County Families -
If you have a child who has any need, whether it be educational, nutritional, winter clothing, emotional support, we ask that you please contact the Board of Education at 270-465-5371 so we can provide support where needed. Your children are our priority during this trying time. We are here to serve them and you.
Before yesterday, the Governor had been making recommendations regarding our learning platforms. However, yesterday he gave an Executive Order for all public and private schools to proceed with virtual learning. Therefore, our district will continue with virtual instruction. Our middle school and high school students will continue with TC Distance Learning until the end of Christmas Break (Monday, January 4, 2021).
We will continue to monitor our community numbers and if, as a county, we can return to “orange,” then we hope that our primary center and intermediate school students can return to their preferred learning platform, in-person or distance learning, on Monday, December 7.
If you have a child who needs additional academic support, please contact your child’s school directly to sign them up for small group sessions or supplemental instruction. Small group sessions meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at each school. Transportation is available if needed. We will assist our students anyway we safely can during this extended time of virtual learning.
We will work together to help all students succeed while continuing to combat this pandemic in our community. Covid is the enemy!
