COVID 19 Update: January 10

Attention

TC Families:

Based on rising Covid positive and quarantine cases with district staff and students, we are making the decision to return to ALL distance learning for the week of January 11 - January 15. TOMORROW, January 11, all schools in Taylor Co School District will operate on our distance learning schedules until further notice.

We will return to our small group homework help tomorrow. The only buses that will run will be for those students who have previously attended small groups and/or homework help during prior virtual learning, as well as for those students without internet access. If you have any questions please contact your child’s school tomorrow.

The reason for the late notice is the sudden escalation in numbers Friday, Saturday, and Sunday within our district. We will continue to monitor community numbers, as well as in-district numbers daily, and get your child back in school as soon as we can safely do so.

It was amazing to see your children at school this past week. We have hope that this will be over sooner rather than later and we can have in-person classes consistently without having to switch back and forth.

I make these decisions prayerfully and factually as they are tough decisions affecting thousands of people. I'll continue to work hard and do my best.

I appreciate your support.

God Bless,

Charles Higdon, Jr.

Superintendent
