Rebecca Bailey: CU Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient

CU Excellence in Teaching Rebecca Bailey

Congratulations to Taylor County Middle School 7th grade teacher, Ms. Rebecca Bailey!!

Ms. Bailey was nominated by her peers as a 2021 CU Excellence in Teaching Award recipient. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony in May, along with the other recipients.

This is her 24th year teaching and she says her favorite part about teaching is "getting the students excited about new novels and then watching them get emotionally immersed during the reading. It’s so satisfying! My favorite part of teaching overall, is the personal connections I make with my students. I love seeing former students and catching up with them. There’s nothing like a good 'remember when' story!"

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes teachers who use a variety of methods of effective instruction, work to meet the needs of their students, exhibit professional integrity, devote time and energy to improving professional competence, and help others to improve their professional competence.

Congratulations!
