TCHS announces new softball coach

TCMS and TCHS softball players with new TCHS softball coaches

David Bradstreet, current athletic director at Taylor County Middle School and former head softball coach at TCMS, has been named head coach of the TCHS softball team.

He will be joined at the high school by Derek Underwood, who works in the district's maintenance department and formerly served as assistant coach for the TCMS softball team, as well as a new assistant coach, Taylor Lapsey.

Lapsey works as an ECE teacher at TCMS, and previously coached softball at Floyd Central High School in Indianapolis. Prior to coaching, she played softball at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Members of the middle and high school softball teams had a chance to hear from the new coaching team at the TCHS softball field this morning.

Charles Higdon Jr., superintendent, said he is excited for the future of Taylor County’s softball program and looks forward to seeing the team grow and improve further under new leadership.
