Thanksgiving Food Drive

Taylor County FFA hosted its 6th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on Friday, November 22, 2019. The assembly took place in Citizens Bank Arena at TCHS and the theme for the assembly was “One Can, Two Can, We Can, You Can!” Classrooms were encouraged to make a display that represented their interpretation of the theme from the cans and other non-perishable food items.

The following departments at Taylor County School were the Display Contest Winners:

3rd place: Math Department

2nd place: English Department

1st place: CTE Department

Mr. Warren Beeler, Executive Director for the Governor’s Office of Agriculture Policy, was the keynote speaker during the assembly.

This was the first year that Taylor County Primary Center, Taylor County Intermediate School, and Taylor County Middle School were invited to donate to the drive. Mrs. Ervin’s class, Mrs. Cox’s class, and Mrs. Scott’s class, all from Taylor County Primary Center, helped bring in the most food! Together, all four schools donated over 9,000 cans! All the donated items directly help our community and Green River Ministries.

The following departments at TCHS had the most cans collected:

3rd place: Art Department

2nd place: Math Department

1st place: English Department

A special thanks to Lindsay Wayne and Ryan Williams for organizing another success Thanksgiving Food Drive!!
