TCHS Students Build Custom Cabinets for Front Office

Custom Cabinets

Taylor County High School students in Mr. Shoemaker’s Wood Manufacturing class made custom cabinets for the front office, which were requested by Jon Hall, TCHS Principal, and the TCHS front office staff.

TCHS senior Hunter Keith, along with Mr. Shoemaker, designed the black cabinets with red countertops on the CAD software. Students from 2nd and 5th class periods built the cabinets and countertops, which also include custom pull-outs behind the doors to assist with organizing office materials. The cabinets were installed by Mr. Shoemaker, Mr. Minton, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Wood.

Mr. Shoemaker and the students are very pleased with their completed project and they appreciate the opportunity and confidence in their woodworking program. Wood manufacturing is part of the Pre Engineering and Tech career pathway offered at TCHS.
