On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, Jason Hodge from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Mobile Science Activity Center visited Cardinal Academy 3rd-6th grade students.
The 44 foot trailer had working stations to engage students in hands-on activities that introduced them to the relationship of raw agricultural products to processed products. The students participated in a soybean lip balm activity where they discussed properties of matter, chemical reactions, and measurement. After the activity, all of the students received their own sample of the end product: beeswax and soybean oil combination.
Taylor County School District and Cardinal Academy would like to thank the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for the engaging and educational activity and presentation.
