On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, Taylor County School District was honored to host Congressman James Comer and Dr. Virginia Foxx.
Congressman Comer represents Kentucky’s 1st District in the United States House of Representatives. Dr. Foxx represents North Carolina’s 5th District in the United States House of Representatives and currently serves as the Republican Leader of the House Committee on Education and Labor.
Congressman Comer and Dr. Foxx visited Taylor County High School to hear from students and educators about performance-based learning, School-Based Enterprises, and workforce development. They toured Fancy That Boutique, Cardinal Corral, where the helped decorate cupcakes, Taylor County Bank Cardinal Financial Center, Cosmetology, Cardinal Kroger, and the Agriculture Department. After visiting TCHS, Congressman Comer and Dr. Foxx went to Central Kentucky Marketing Prep (CK-Prep) to witness the hands-on experience within the store that is helping to prepare our students for the workforce and their future.
