The Taylor County High School Mock Trial Team has been working diligently on their case since October and competed in the Louisville Regional Mock Trial Competition on February 1 and 2, 2020. Along with other high school students from around the state, they demonstrated their critical thinking, public speaking, and argument skills.
At Regionals, Reagan Read (sophomore) was selected as Outstanding Attorney and Emily Watkins (junior) was selected as Outstanding Witness by the judges.
Team members include Abby Ford, Abigayle Lee, Alexia Tikkanen, Allie Hancock, Emily Watkins, Gillian Hale, Hannah Hansford, Hannah Phillips, Morgan Melton, RaiLee Hagan, Reagan Read, and Ya’Kerryeun Davis. Mrs. Kathryn Goode, English Teacher at TCHS, is the Mock Trial Coach.
The team would like to extend a special thank you to their attorney coach Jon Hieneman, as well as Judge Mike Hall and Judge Amy Anderson for volunteering their time and expertise this season.
