TCHS DECA at State Competition

The Taylor County High School DECA Club had 67 students who competed in the State DECA Competition in Louisville, Kentucky on March 1st - 3rd. Nine students placed first or second in their event, therefore qualifying them for the National DECA Competition in April. The national DECA conference will be held in Nashville, Tennessee.

The events that the students participate in are invaluable as they provide real-world application and experience. Events include role-playing, interviews, written projects, and tests. All competitions expose students to business principles, soft-skills, and interpersonal skills. The DECA conference does an excellent job of taking the business content that is taught in the classroom, and bringing it to life for the students. TCHS business teacher and DECA sponsor Mr. Rodgers said, “I am proud of each of my students and their accomplishments at the state conference.”
