TCHS Names Andy Stephens Head Coach of Lady Cards Softball

Andy Stephens

Taylor County High School has named Andy Stephens as the Head Coach of the Lady Cardinals Softball Team. Coach Stephens comes to Taylor County with 12 years coaching experience and five district titles and one district runner-up title. His prior team appeared in six regional semi-finals and in 2005 Coach Stephens was named Danville Advocate Coach of the Year.

Coach Stephens, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, is an instructor at Lakeview Academy at the Central Kentucky Career Academy. He received his B.S. in Mathematics Teaching and his M.A. in Instructional Leadership.

In addition to establishing teams that will compete for district, region, and state titles, Coach Stephens’ goals for the Taylor County softball program are to establish a preseason program that focuses on strength, agility, and skill development, create an atmosphere where hardwork and commitment are the standard, increase team skill, commitment, and success year after year, and develop student-athletes with strong core values who are role models both in the classroom and on the field.

Coach Stephens will help oversee the turf transformation at the softball field and hopes to build batting cages and a weight room for the team.
